The International Working Women's Day 2010 Coalition invites women, men and children to attend the "Stop the violence against women, every issue is a woman's issue" march and rally on Saturday, March 27 in New York City. More now than ever, building solidarity and linking all the struggles worldwide through protest are important to get this devastating economic crisis off the backs of women, their families and communities. Speakers will include representatives from the ongoing struggles abroad including Haiti, Honduras, Philippines, Africa, Palestine along with the campaigns for economic and political justice at home.
The rally will begin at Union Square (14th and Broadway) at 12 noon. The march will step off around 1:00 p.m. and to proceed to a Bank of America branch, Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire memorial and St. Vincent's Hospital. Bring drums and other instruments to play on the march along with your signs and banners. An ending rally will take place at the Solidarity Center at after 3:00 p.m. along with food, a film and music.
March 27 leaflets in English and Spanish are available for downloading at the Bail Out the People Movement Web site at bailoutpeople.org. You can also pick up leaflets at the Solidarity Center, 55 W. 17 St., 5th floor, Manhattan on Thursday, March 25 until 9 p.m. and on Friday, March 26 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m .
