NYC: Sat, November 20: 2 heroic women political prisoners
A Good-bye to Lynne Stewart - 4 to 6pm
&
A Tribute to Lolita Lebron -7pm
Saturday, Nov 20, from 4 to 6 pm, is the last chance to send a greeting to
heroic peoples lawyer Lynne Stewart, through the prison bars
at MCC. Lynne is soon to be transferred – to who knows where.
This may be the last opportunity, in a long time, for Lynne to see her many
supporters and for all of us to see her - waving from the window.
This is the 1-year anniversary of Lynne
Stewart's bail being revoked and her incarceration at MCC.
On July 15, 2010 Lynne Stewart, age 71 was re-sentenced to 10 years in
prison. Lynne was originally arrested in April 2002 and falsely accused of
aiding terrorism because she issued a press release. This is an obvious attempt
by the U.S. government to silence dissent, curtail vigorous defense lawyers,
and install fear in those who would fight against the U.S. government’s
racism, seek to help Arabs and Muslims being prosecuted for free speech and
defend the rights of all oppressed people.
Please come out to show your love, solidarity and support to Lynne.
Gather St Foley Sq, Tom Paine Park, corner of Center St & Pearl
St, Manhattan.
From 4 to 6pm this Saturday.
Bring flashlights, drums, bells, horns.
Let's be visible and loud, so that Lynne can both hear and
see us.
