Free Mumia!
Teach - In
and Potluck
Thursday, May 3
7:30 pm
300 Allen St
Austin, Texas
The purpose of this teach-in is to provide people with background information on Mumia's case, expand on the reasons why he is a target of the Pennsylvania Criminal Justice System, provide legal updates concerning the current status of his case, and discuss how the struggle to Free Mumia is connected to other issues such as the Ant-Globalization Movement, the Zapatistas, the Puerto Rican Independence Movement, and the prison industrial complex. Finally we will have a video presentation of the MOVE Confronation, when the city of Philadelphia attacked, bombed, and murdered members of the MOVE family for their political beliefs. As a journalist Mumia, covered the conflict between the City of Philadelphia and MOVE. It was his honest coverage of these events that are the primary reason for his current incarceration.
We hope to see you on Thursday. We are also having a potluck so bring a dish if you can.
The Teach-In will be held at the warehouse on 300 Allen St. in East Austin. It is off 7th Avenue at the end of the block.
