The Free Mumia Coalition will be participating in the ANTI- RNC PROTESTS

Join our Contingent on August 29th and 30th!  We will be  carrying FREE MUMIA AND FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS banners. We  want this message present in the large anti-war rally scheduled for  the 29th by UFPJ. We also want to march on the 30th with the Still  We Rise Coalition which is addressing a range of poor people's  issues, from homelessness to healthcare, the criminalization of a  generation to HIV/AIDS, to immigration and education, a march and  rally for justice by a very diverse group of activists.

Both marches will begin at Union Square.  For the UFPJ rally  and demonstration, we'll be assembling at 11am at 20th St. btw. 5/6  Ave. closer to 6 Ave. Look for Tibby and myself wearing Mumia t- shirts and holding our banner.  For the Still We Rise march and  rally look for Bill Bachmann and Linda Gilbo.  They'll be assembling at 11am at 17 & Broadway in front of Barnes & Nobles book store.  Either one of them will be wearing Mumia's t-shirts as well. We've decided to march with the Campaign to End the Death Penalty, so look for their banner as well as ours, if you'd like to march with us.

Lastly, we've decided to participate in ARTISTS and ACTIVISTS  UNITED FOR PEACE, a September 2nd coalition activity in Harlem led  by Grand Marshall Councilman Charles Barron.  Bob Law will be our  host for the afternoon.  Invited guests include Councilwomen Yvette  Clarke, Margarita Lopez, Letitia James, Councilman John Liu,  attorneys Lynn Stewart and Ron Kuby and a panoply of artists and  activists.

This black led rally and artist collective will be highlighting poor and working class peoples' issues such as inadequate healthcare, lack of employment in the black and Hispanic community, the criminal injustice system, particularly in regards to our aging political prisoners  and a severe housing shortage in New York City.  The rally will be at 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd; the Harlem State Office Building.  Speeches will be at a minimum – the goal is to educate and mobilize using our culture as a base of action.

We hope to see you! We think it is critical that our movement fully include the struggle for Mumia's and all other political prisoners' freedom.

Ona Move!
