LET FREEDOM RING FOR MUMIA PHOTO JOURNAL:
JULY 3, 1999

With a spirited, united and militant civil-disobedience action reminiscent of the 1960s, over 400 demonstrators shut down access to Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell for two and a half hours July 3, 1999, to demand a new trial and freedom for political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal. This photo journal is derived from the video, TAKING THE LIBERTY BELL, which features South African poet and former political prisoner Dennis Brutus and dramatic scenes of the arrests.
