Statement of Solidarity of the Asia-Pacific Campaign Against US Bases
April 3, 2007--It's been four years since Mr. George Bush launched the condemnable war
in Iraq on March 20, 2003. Yet, the war of aggression and occupation still
rages on. But this time, the Iraqi people are winning the battle.
The resistance movement in Iraq is inflicting casualties on American troops
everyday and in increasing numbers. One thing is clear - the resistance of the
Iraqi people will continue and they will persevere in driving out the invading
foreign troops.
The whole world already knows that there are no weapons of mass destruction and
that Mr. Bush lied about the reason why the US launched the war of mass
destruction in Iraq. The peoples of the world are the witnesses to the
continuing slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people and the
destruction of their properties.
The American people are already angry that thousands of their young sons and
daughters are being sacrificed by Mr. Bush, everyday, not in the name of
democracy but in the name of greed for the monopoly for oil and control of the
entire Middle East and all its resources. This anger resulted to the defeat of
the Republicans in the last election.
We know that US imperialism will always use wars of aggression as a potent
weapon in order to control the much needed resources in the world for the
benefit of the big monopoly corporations. US imperialism will always display
its military strength and capability to bully nations asserting their
sovereignty. It is actually strengthening military relations with Japan and
Australia to ensure that its interest in South-East Asia and the Pacific is
well guarded.
The peoples of the world must emulate the perseverance of the resistance
movement of the Iraqi people. It has been able to effectively resist the US war
machinery, thwart the puppet regime in Iraq, and defend the sovereignty of the
Iraqi people.
We must act as one movement of peoples against imperialist wars of
aggression. The peoples’ resistance against the destructive war of
aggression by the Bush Administration must be heightened and sustained. Our
solidarity actions to the Iraqi people remain our contribution to put a stop to
the war and occupation in Iraq.
Heighten the protests against the war of aggression in Iraq!
Bush and Blair, stop your war of aggression! US troops out of Iraq Now!
Long live the people of Iraq!
End US Militarism and War!
Long Live International Solidarity!
