CHALLENGE From May 6-13, 100 people representing leaders and activists from anti-war, religious, student, community, and labor organizations will participate in the Iraq Sanctions Challenge. They will bring tons of medicine to the people of Iraq in defiance of U.S./UN sanctions. |
APPLICATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 15
April 15 is the deadline for applications to become
part of the Iraq Sanctions Challenge.If you wish to be part of this important
people-to-people action, WE MUST RECEIVE BY MAIL BY APRIL 15:
1. a completed and signed copy of the application
2. a signed and notarized release form
3. a photocopy of the first page of your passport
4. two passport photos
5. a deposit of $200
You can print the application and release
form from the Challenge Web site. If you cannot print it, call 212 -633-6646 to have
the application faxed to you.
With your contribution we can buy medicine in bulk at a huge discounts. For every dollar collected, we will purchase twenty dollars worth of vitally needed medicine. We will deliver this medicine to hospitals and clinics in Iraq.
ORGANIZE SUPPORT FOR THE CHALLENGE
Another way you can help is to organize news
conferences, send-offs, video showings, house meetings, and welcome-back activities in

* New York, NY --> Tuesday, May 5: Iraq Sanctions Challenge will hold a mass indoor send-off rally in New York to support religious leaders, medical professionals and anti-war activists traveling to Iraq the next day to bring badly-needed medical supplies. Hundreds are expected to flood Judson Memorial Church at 6:30 pm to hear former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, and others. Details
People in the NYC area are invited to attend the weekly meeting of
the local organizing committee. (Every Tuesday, 6:30 pm, 39 West 14 Street, #206,
Manhattan.)
Also, spend an evening with Nawal el Saadawi, the world-renowned Egyptian
novelist and writer, on Thursday, April 16, 6:30 pm, 39 West 14 Street, #206.
El Saadawi initiated the campaign for a million signatures against the Iraq sanctions. She
will be speaking on "Resisting the U.S. war against the peoples of the Middle
East." A Middle Eastern dinner will be available for an additional donation.
