INTERNSHIPS AGAINST WAR AND RACISM
Over the last sixteen years, the International Action Center has been in the forefront of building a new movement of resistance in the U.S. against corporate CEO’s, Pentagon generals, and politicians who seeking endless war for empire and profit. Launched in 1992 by former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark and many others who had worked together against the first Gulf War, the IAC has grown into a national network of dedicated activists.
The IAC is seeking interns for the summer or semester.
As an intern, you’ll be resisting war at home and abroad organizing against war and occupation.
We fight to free Mumia Abu-Jamal and all political prisoners.
We organize in the community against Police Brutality and against right wing violence against African Americans, Latino, Asian, Arab, Native American and other oppressed nationalities and Lesbians Gays Bi and Trans people and women.
You will work together with seasoned activists in all of these struggles, and directly with the communities involved and affected.
The IAC devotes resources to mentoring interns and raising awareness among activists of historical and current political developments, fighting racism and all forms of bigotry, the struggle for self-determination for oppressed peoples and how these issues affect our society and impact the struggle for peace and social justice. Interning with the IAC, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute or learn technical skills while being part of the movement for peace and justice.

Skills You Can Contribute/Learn Interning with the IAC:
Event organizing * Media relations * Public speaking * Research and writing * Desktop publishing * Videography * Website administration * Database and Internet computer application
Qualifications:
Desire to work cooperatively with others towards goal of building the peace and social justice movement. Computer experience and other organizing experience helpful but not necessary. The IAC is a volunteer based organization.
This internship is unpaid.
Interns must organize their own housing arrangements in NYC.
