Elvira Arellano appeals to U.S. movement to help migrant activists in Mexico get to Puerto Vallarta

Elvira Allano from Familias Latinas Unidas Sin Fronteras has made a special appeal to the movement in the U.S.
to help raise $1,800 to send a bus to the protests in Puerto Vallarta.
In 2007, Elvira Arellano openly defied deportation orders by taking sanctuary at Adalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago.
Many called her the Rosa Parks of the immigration movement as she defied ICE policies and defended immigrant rights.

Schedule of Events:

- NOVEMBER 4 – 6   International Tribunal of Conscience (ITC)

- NOVEMBER 7 – 8 --3rd International Assembly of Migrants and Refugees (IAMR3).

- NOVEMBER 6 (9 pm) Solidarity and Cultural evening

- NOVEMBER 8 (9-11 am) Mobilization in front of the Foreign realtions Ministry in Mexico City to denounce Mexico's Migration Policies and condemn the recent massacre of 72 migrants in Tamaulipas, Mexico
- NOVEMBER 8 (late evening) Start of the“Caravana del Pueblo Contra el GFMD” (People’s Caravan against GFMD) to Puerto Vallarta, the site of the 4th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD).

- NOVEMBER 9 Guadalajara - The caravan will stop in Guadalajara for an assembly and tribunal of the ex-braceros.

THE CARAVAN FROM MEXICO CITY TO PUERTO VALLARTA IS BEING SUPPORTED & ORGANIZED BY UNIONS IN MEXICO, INCLUDING THE ELECTRICAL UNION SME.

-  NOVEMBER 10 ITC verdict will be delivered to the government delegation at the GFMD as well as the public. IAMR3 will be calling for an international day of action. There will also be a mobilization in Puerta Vallarta.

The International Migrant Alliance along with the Frente Indigena de Organizaciones Binacionales (FIOB), the May 1st Coalition for Worker and Immigrant Rights, Miredes International (Mexico), Migrante International (Philippines), Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants (Hong Kong), Migrante Canada, National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON-USA), Movimiento Migrante Meso-Americano, Familias Latinas Unidas Sin Fronteras are initiators of these events.

1) Make a Donation!  Help send participants from the U.S. to the events in Mexico.  Send an extra donation in response to the special appeal from Elvira Arellano from Familias Latinas Unidas Sin Fronteras  to the movement in the U.S. to help raise $1,800 to send a bus to the protests in Puerto Vallarta.
