MIGRANTE Europe supports the struggle of Victor Toro

MIGRANTE Europe supports the struggle of Chilean activist and migrant worker Victor Toro for freedom and justice. We join his friends and supporters in calling for his immediate release and grant of political asylum.

Mr. Toro, no doubt, is a legitimate political refugee, having stood up and fought against the bloody regime of the US-supported Augusto Pinochet. His being undocumented in the US should not be used to criminalize him.

We call on US authorities to drop the criminal charges against him and grant him asylum and justice instead. Criminalizing those who have struggled against the Pinochet regime is to give a hated war criminal a pat on the head.

Justice and Asylum for Victor Toro, not imprisonment and deportation!
