SUPPORT TAXI DRIVERS' RIGHT TO PRIVACY
FRIEND OF THE COURT (AMICUS) BRIEF IN SUPPORT OF VIOLA PLUMMER
Greetings All,
The Center for Law and Social Justice, Medgar Evers College, CUNY, is preparing an amicus brief, known as "friend of the court" brief, in support of an expected motion for summary judgment in favor of Viola Plummer. The brief, which will be on behalf of both organizations and individuals and will emphasize the following three points:
1) that the City Council Speaker Quinn exceeded and abused her authority in first attempting to discipline and then firing Viola Plummer,
2) that Plummer is employed by and serves at the pleasure of Council member Barron, not Quinn and
3) that the Viola was fired in violation of her rights under the first amendment.
