NYC: Tues, Dec. 8 -- ON THE DAY OF THE RE-SENTENCING: PROTEST THE CONTINUED INCARCERATION OF THE CUBAN 5!

Fernando Gonzalez and Ramon Labañino, two of the five Cuban heroes, are scheduled to be re-sentenced on December 8th.

On Oct. 13, a 21-year-plus-10-month prison term was imposed on Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez by the same Florida U.S. District Court that initially condemned him to a life sentence plus 10 years.

None of the Five should be in prison, for their only crime was to stop terrorism against Cuba, terrorism carried out by right-wing Cuban American organizations in Florida.

In recent comments, lawyer Leonard Weinglass noted that the reduced sentence for Antonio, while only a partial victory, reflected the pressure placed on the legal system by years of hard work by the solidarity movement.

The President of the Cuban Parliament, Ricardo Alarcon, said “After ten years of appeals, the fact that the US courts have acknowledged that the sentences against them were excessive - despite the lack of evidence to support the charge of conspiracy to commit espionage - shows the injustice of the US legal system.”

Let us continue to demand justice and freedom for the Cuban Five
