The president wants to "build a bridge to the 21st century," but US/NATO warplanes have destroyed every bridge across the Danube in Yugoslavia, even though people stood on them to prevent their destruction. so what are we to do...as we witness peace offers from Yugoslavia turned down even though endorsed by the Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrihim Rugova. for six weeks now the bombing has caused almost a million to be deported from Kosovo. This madness has wasted 8 billion dollars and counting. this week 33,000 reservists were activated, taken from their homes, families and jobs, for what? as we enter the 7th week of this shameful tragedy, perhaps it is time to stand with the people of Yugoslavia/Kosovo, if just for a moment. let us allow our symbolic action on the bridges of our city to be like warning flares to our community that this war must stop. it is not all we can do, but it is a beginning. join us. peace, Vincent Scotti Eirene 1-888-Notowar Ps The Left Is Too Uptight To Allow Them To Entertain them. Philadelphia SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 6 - 9 PM, 48 & Baltimore, (Calvary Church): Meeting on why we oppose the Bombing of Yugoslavia: STOP BOMBING YUGOSLAVIA Money for jobs & education—not war! What is the truth? BC is owned by General Electric, one of the largest military contractors and suppliers of jet engines to NATO. The other major television and radio networks are also owned and controlled by huge corporations. Instead of telling the truth about the U.S. war against Yugoslavia, NBC and the rest of the media serve as public relations firms for the Pentagon and the major war profiteers. What’s behind this war? The ties between the KLA and the U.S. The dangers of radioactive DU weapons. The cause of the refugee crisis. How U.S. pressure forced the break-up of socialist Yugoslavia. Milwaukee : Sisters & Brothers: About 200 people turned out Thursday, March 26,  in Milawaukee for a protest against the bombing of Yugoslavia. There is a standard procedure among the peace groups here to gather downtown in the financial district the day after the start of any U.S. attack on another country. Usually about 30-50 people turn out. Yesterday's protest was swelled by members of the Serbian community, which numbers about 30,000 here. 75 Serbs picketed the home Wednesday, March 24, of U.S. Rep. James Barrett, who voted to support the bombing. A Job is a Right Campaign downloaded the IAC statement on the U.S.attack and photocopied it onto the back of a leaflet promoting the "Community Meeting for Mumia" we are having here Saturday, March 27. We thought 100 copies would be enough, but were overwhelmed with the response. Everyone wanted one, since it was the only written statement opposing the bombing. We also had ten signs that repeated the IAC slogans from the NYC demo Wednesday. ajrc@mail.execpc.com
