WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR MARCH 15?

The plan: Assemble 11 a.m. at Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco,
adjacent to City Hall. Rally, then march to Jefferson Square Park for a
closing rally. The march route will be from Civic Center west on Grove to
VanNess, left on Van Ness 1 block to Hayes, right on Hayes to Webster,
right on Webster to Eddy, right on Eddy to Jefferson Square Park.

VOLUNTEERS ON MAR.15:

To make this event a success, hundreds of volunteers are needed to help
out in many areas -- for handing out literature and placards, getting out
buttons, water, monitoring and more. We still need more volunteers! If you
can help, email m15vol@actionsf.org or call 415-821-6545 and ask for
Tahnee. Volunteer check-in on Mar. 15 is at 9 am at Civic Center Plaza.
Look for the Volunteer banner. (Even if you have not attended an
orientation, you are still needed on the day of.) We also need volunteers
to help with set-up at both Civic Center and Jefferson Square Park at 7 am
and for take-down at both sites as well.

BUSES, VANS AND CAR CARAVANS GOING TO SAN FRANCISCO:

If you are traveling to San Francisco from another city or town, please
check to see if there is a March 15 contact in your area by visiting our
list of organizing centers. Transportation is being organized from many
cities and towns along the Coast and throughout the West. If you're
organizing people from your area and you're not listed, fill out the
online form or email us at answer@actionsf.org so we can help get the word
out.

TRANSPORTATION FROM THE SOUTH BAY:

Meet at 9 a.m. at the County parking lot at 1st & Hedding (across the
street from 70 West Hedding) to arrange carpooling or get on a bus. South
Bay Mobilization to Stop the War and De Anza Students for Justice are
sponsoring buses at the low cost of $7-10, sliding scale (with a limited
number of scholarships available). Please make your reservations NOW by
calling 408-998-8504 to ensure your seat!


DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Bay Bridge: Take Ninth St. exit and proceed on Harrison one block,
then turn right onto Ninth St. Proceed across Market, bearing right onto
Larkin. Continue one block to Grove. Civic Center Plaza is on the left.
From Peninsula: Take U.S. 101 North to Seventh St. Turn left (north) onto

Seventh St. Follow to end and turn left (west) onto McAllister. Proceed
approximately four blocks to Larkin. Civic Center Plaza is on the left.
From Golden Gate Bridge: Follow U.S. 101 south as it merges onto Lombard
St. Turn right at Van Ness, left at McAllister. Proceed two blocks to
Larkin. Civic Center Plaza is on the right.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN SAN FRANCISCO

The closest BART/MUNI Metro station to Cvic Center Plaza is the Civic
Center stop. Exit the station and proceed west on Grove one block to

BUS/VAN/CAR DROP-OFF, PICK-UP & PARKING:

* BUS/VAN/CAR DROP-OFF
The rally gathering site is Civic Center Plaza. Buses and vans can drop
passengers off at this location. Buses should park along McAllister St. or
Larkin St. adjacent to Civic Center Plaza. * BUS PICKUP After an opening
rally at Civic Center Plaza, we will march to Jefferson Square Park. Bus
pick up will be back at Civic Center along McAllister and Larkin, adjacent
to Civic Center Plaza. * BUS PARKING Bus parking is available along
McAllister and Larkin, adjacent to Civic Center Plaza. Marchers will need
to return to Civic Center Plaza (approx. 5 blocks) from Jefferson Square
Park for bus pick-up after the rally.

* VAN/CAR PARKING INFORMATION

Vans and car caravans can drop off at Civic Center Plaza and then park in a lot
or on the street in the area. Please note that public transportation is
the preferred method to the rally, as parking is very limited in the area.
There is a municipal garage below Civic Center Plaza with 843 spaces for
$1.50/hr. The garage will be open 8 am to midnight, but please note that
it may fill up early, or have to close if traffic congestion in the area
necessitates. Performing Arts Garage is at 360 Grove St. approx. 2 blocks
from Civic Center Plaza, with 618 spaces. It is not scheduled to be open
on March 15, but we are making attempts to have it be made available for
the rally, especially after Civic Center Garage is full. There are several

WEATHER:

San Francisco weather is typically cool mornings with warm afternoons,
then gusty winds later in the afternoon. Rain is a possibility. Dressing
in layers is suggested. (see also, weather.com for temperature readings,
etc.! -- but please remember that weather predictions are not always

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING

Bring snacks and water, and wear comfortable shoes since you'll be
standing and walking for several hours. Rain and changeable weather are
possible, so bring appropriate gear to protect either from the sun, rain,
wind, cold, or other elements. If you've been to an A.N.S.W.E.R. protest
before and have an "Act Now to Stop War & End Racism," t-shirt or sign,
wear it or bring it to the protest!

FOOD

There are a number of restaurants and coffee shops in the area of Civic
Center. There will be vendors at both Civic Center and Jefferson Square
Park with food available.

BATHROOMS

Portable toilets will be readily available. Some of them will be
wheelchair accessible.

TABLING POLICY

There is a designated area for groups to set up tables at the rally, and
there will be a fee to help offset the enormous organizing costs. Table
space in the designated area is available for 6-foot tables on a first
come, first served basis. The fee must be paid at the time when you set up
your table. Maps indicating the designated tabling area will be available
at the rally site on March 15. There will be volunteers on hand to explain
the designated tabling area and to collect the fee. Groups setting up
tables for free literature distribution will be charged $50 per table;
anyone setting up a commercial table to sell materials will be charged
$250 per table. Please bring cash, check or money order (made to
"A.N.S.W.E.R.") with you when you set up. Groups may only set up tables.
No other structures can be set up. All groups must bring their own tables.

WORK SESSIONS:

The A.N.S.W.E.R. logistics team will hold numerous work sessions to
complete work in all of the above areas in preparation for March 15. Work
sessions will take place in San Francisco. ANSWER meetings take place
every Tuesday evening at 7 pm at San Francisco Women's Bldg., 3543 - 18th
St. between Valencia & Guerero. WORK SESSIONS will take place all day (9
am - 9 pm) on Thurdsay March 13 and Friday March 14 at the ANSWER office,
2489 Mission St. Room 24 (near 21st St.) in San Francisco. To volunteer or
