As the Bush administration moves weapons, thousands of troops and material to Iraq for a war set to be triggered by the January 27 deadline, people in the United States are building a powerful follow-up to the October 26 anti-war demonstration that brought out over a quarter of a million people--200,000 in Washington D.C. and 100,000 in San Francisco.

On Saturday, January 18, people will celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday weekend by traveling in buses, cars, trains and planes to Washington D.C. and San Francisco for a U.S.-based international day of demonstration with one dominating goal: to stop the war.

A growing list of rally speakers will include Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney; former U.S. Attorney General, Ramsey Clark; actor Mike Farrell; Ron Kovic, Vietnam Veteran and author of "Born on the Fourth of July"; actor Jessica Lange; and musical performances by best-selling artist Chumbawumba and 70's icon Patti Smith.

After speeches, the demonstration will feature a dynamic march to the Washington Naval Yard, where a people's weapons inspection team will demand full, unfettered access to and elimination of U.S. weapons of mass destruction.
