ARGENTINA: In Argentina it will be demonstrations against ALCA (Free Trade Area of the Americas) and they will bring the issue of the war into these demos. They coincide with the time of the demos all over the world on the 12 of April.

BANGLADESH: Three eminent personalities have called for a nationwide protest on April 12 to protest the Anglo-American attack on Iraq and genocide of the people there. Chief advisor of the Committee for Resistance of Aggression Khatib of Baitul Mukarram national mosque Maulana Obaidul Haq, co-convenor justice Mohammad Abdur Rouf and Prof Emajuddin Ahmed, called upon the people of Bangladesh, irrespective of party affiliation, difference of opinion or religious faith, to arrange rallies and processions in all towns, ports and localities on the day.

JAPAN: April 12 mobilization. We are willing to endorse it. I suppose most Japanese anti-war groups will endorse and join it as the fourth coordinated global action. At the same time we have received a proposal beforehand from BAYAN-Philippines to have Asian-Pacific wide joint anti-war action day on April 9. AWC formation endorsed it.

In a press conference today, the Justice Not War Coalition and the Philippine Chapter of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) April 12 are the Walk Against the War Coalition of New South Wales, Australia; Coalition Opposed to the US, UK-led War on Iraq Unified Action of Taiwan; the No to War Coalition of Hongkong; the No to War Coalition of Japan; Asia-Wide Action of Japan; the Asia-Wide Action in Korea; Roots For Equality in Pakistan; WALHI (Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia - a major Indonesian forum for environment which is composed of several peoples' organizations and NGOs); the Asia Student Association; the National Students Front of Indonesia and the All-Burma Students' League. Even a small group in Iran led by a certain schoolmaster by the name of Zohre has also written ILPS-Philippine Chapter, saying that Iranians would also mobilize on Saturday. "Protests will also be held as far as Mongolia and the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyztan," said ILPS-Philippine Chapter chairperson Danilo Ramos. Although not part of the Asia region, the following organizations from the Middle East and Africa have also signified their intention to stage protest actions: the General Union of Arab Students and the All Africa Student Union(AASU).
