There are many activities over the next two weeks, many of them protesting the Republican National Convention here in Philly.  Here are some activities we especially urge our members and friends or anyone who opposes police brutality and the death penalty and U.S. militarism to attend:

1.  Saturday, July 29-- Mothers Organized Against Police Terror, International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal, the International Action Center and other groups are organizing a protest against police brutality, starting at Spring Garden and Broad Street at noon, at the FOP headquarters. The march will go to 26th and Oxford, where Thomas Jones was brutally beaten by police on July 12.

2.  Sunday, July 30, at the UNITY2000 march, join the "Avenge Shaka/Free Mumia/Not one more lynching/Justice for Thomas Jones" contingent.  The IAC contingent is gathering at 10 a.m. on 20th Street and JFK Boulevard. Help educate the thousands of demonstrators in Philly about the need to end the death penalty, to stop police brutality and end racism.

3.  Sunday 7/30/00, Point of departure is 3rd and Pearl Sts. in Camden (Rutgers Campus ) 4:30 P.M., march against the opening event of the Republican National Convention at the NJ Aquarium.  The main issue being organized by the predominantly Puerto Rican activists in Camden is U.S. NAVY OUT OF VIEQUES!  Other issues can be raised as well, of course.
