Joint Action for Mumia will meet to prepare to Disrupt ‘business as usual’ at the Federal Court on February 28, 2000 with a mass civil disobedience

The next meeting (sorry for the short notice) will be:

Sunday Jan 16 at 6PM
HERE Local 2850
548 20th St - Oakland (enter thru 21st St parking lot - Mumia Sign)
(located between Telegraph & San Pablo)
(exit BART at 19th St & proceed west)

We have much work to do, and I’m sure you’ll want to be filled in on the work that’s already been done. Since the last meeting, Pastor Lorenzo Carlisle from the United Church of Christ has signed on to help mobilize the faith community to participate in the civil disobedience as has Global Exchange.

We will complete the picture of what the action will look like generally, as well as taking up the other issues that had to be cut short at the last meeting. We will continue to focus on out-reach for the event and should have new posters ready.

Besides coming to the JAM mtg and preparing for the CD, please make plans to attend the event being organized for January 29 in Oakland at the Alice Arts Center by United for Justice. It should be an excellent opportunity, in a relaxed environment to enjoy yourself, meet some new friends and pay tribute to the struggle to free Mumia and all the other political prisoners. I reprint the call for that event:
