The Martin Luther King Jr. Day action by Occupy 4 Jobs took over the Bank of America in New York's Union Square today. With hundreds of protesters massed outside, after a half hour of occupation, the police came an arrested 4 occupiers - Larry Holmes, Gavrielle Gemma, Caleb Maupin and Tony Murphy.
Carrying signs with the image of Dr. King and slogans of "Jobs Not Jails" and "Jobs Are A Right," the Occupy 4 Jobs march of hundreds is continued in solidarity with the Bank of America occupation.
The National Lawyers Guild is on the scene and working to secure the release of those who were unjustly arrested. The police offered no explanation why they have not arrest the criminal bankers who have foreclosed the homes of millions of workers and their families, but only arrested the job-rights occupiers.
