NYC: Wed. , Sept 2 - Organizers Meeting - Breaking News and Updates - Only three weeks until the March for Jobs!
HOT NEWS!! Both the United Steel Workers and the United Electrical workers unions have endorsed the March for Jobs in Pittsburgh, September 20. This is somewhere between a snowball and a steamroller!
Please join us Wednesday, September 2, for the BOPM Organizers Meeting at the Solidarity Center, 55 W. 17th St., 5th Floor, 6:30-8:30pm.
Help plan for our role in the NYC Labor Day March, with the Stella D'Oro workers and their supporters. There will be a report of Monday's successful meeting at DC37, and the latest from the Million Worker March Movement, which has also embraced the jobs march.
Other business:
- FUNDRAISING FOR TRANSPORTATION! We have committed to assuring transport for the Katrina survivors, who met at the Solidarity Center last Saturday to commemorate Katrina's 5th anniversary. Shamefully, the federal government continues to largely ignore their plight. This calls for more than solidarity!
- Plans for Field Organizing trips to both Pittsburgh and Ohio as the countdown begins to 9/20.
- If you have vacation time coming, now's the time to consider using it!
- Local Outreach: in addition to street meetings and subway visits, we need to be present at all local events with flyers and speakers wherever possible.
See you Wednesday!
