June 22-26, 2009: NYC -- A week of resistance and organizing

What a week coming up! The "G192" (UN Conference on the Financial and
Economic Crisis and its Impacts on Development), previously scheduled for June
1-4, is happening June 24-26: this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
On Friday we'll have a PRESS CONFERENCE AT THE UN (Dag Hammerskjold Plaza,
47th St. & 1st Ave. from 1 to 2pm) to call for a Global Mobilization in
Response to the September G20 in Pittsburgh.
There are important related activities Monday and Tuesday:

Teresa Gutierrez, coordinator of the May 1 Coalition for Immigrants Rights, and
Deputy Secretary General of the International Migrants Alliance (IMA), Paul L.
Quintos, Policy Officer of Ibon Foundation and Rev. Deborah De Winter (tbc),
WCC Programme Executive for the United States will discuss the implications of
the crisis on working people and the need to globalize our response and
solidarity. She'll share a panel with other leaders in the global movement
for migrants' rights.

BOPM leader Larry Holmes is featured together with Pedro Paez (Ecuador's
ex-Minister of Economic Coordination, and member of the UN GA President's
Commission of Experts on Reforms to the International Monetary and Financial
System), Sarah Anderson (Institute for Policy Studies), and
others.
