Students and Youth in Caracas, Venezuela

On August 7-15th, 2005, thousands of progressive youth from all over the
world will gather in Caracas, Venezuela to participate in the 16th
World Festival of Youth and Students.

The International Action Center is sending a delegation of young
activists from across the United States to attend this historic event.
This delegation is comprised of youth from many communities, from New
York City to Raleigh, NC, to San Diego, CA.

August 5, 2005--They are activists and leaders in many of the most important struggles taking place in this country right now--from the anti-war movement to  the struggles for immigrants’, workers' and students' rights, and against political and racist repression..

The International Action Center is sending these young people to Venezuela so that they can exchange their experiences as organizers  with young activists from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and elsewhere.

Most importantly, these youth will have the opportunity to see for  themselves the Bolivarian revolution unfolding and the massive  progressive social and economic changes in Venezuela.

They will learn about new programs which are bringing literacy, healthcare, food, and jobs programs to millions of people.

The youth will meet with thousands of Venezuelan youth who are in the midst of a heroic struggle to build a better society for themselves  while standing up to U.S. imperialist threats and harassment.

They will have an opportunity to attend workshops on many significant  issues where they can exchange and meet with young people who are  activists in Venezuela and from around the world. The IAC delegation will be able to bring back to many cities and  communities in the U.S. news of the new society being built in Venezuela and information about youth in struggles around the world.

Your help is urgently needed to send the IAC Youth Delegation to  Venezuela! The cost of the trip is high and financial assistance is  needed.
