The Washington Post has announced in it's June 13, 2000, issue 'that of the 5 million casualties during the war more than half of them are believed to be civilians.' Nogun-ri is just the tip of the ice burg. Our demands for justice are beginning to be felt not only in the international community, but also right here in the United States. True reconciliation will come when the truth is fully told and justice is done."

A Call to Action: Friday, June 23 Reparations for the Victims of U.S. War Crimes in Korea National Press Conference and Protest in Front of the White House
Dear Friend,
While the Pentagon continues to try to white wash the shocking news of U.S. soldiers machine gunning Korean peasants at No Gun Ri in 1950, more evidence is mounting of routine massacres throughout Korea during this period.
We are approaching the 50th anniversary of the Korean war. The truth must be told! Reparations for the victims must be made!
On Friday, June 23, at 10 A.M. Ramsey Clark, former States Attorney and a founding member of the International Action Center, and six of the Korean survivors, along with other experts and witnesses, will present their evidence and accounts of these massacres at a National Press Conference. (The press conference will be held at the National Press Club at 10 A.M. This will be followed by a protest in front of the White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, at 12 Noon.
The U.S./Pentagon war against Korea has never ended. 40,000 U.S. troops continue to menace the Korean people. The U.S. military also continues to practice with live fire at a bombing range in Maehyang-ri, Korea -- south Korea's "Vieques": Since 1951, local villagers have been fighting to stop U.S. bombing practice on their land, just like in Puerto Rico.
This issue is not thousands of miles away, it is felt right here in Philadelphia. The Pentagon spends billions of dollars that could better be used to buy school books for Philadelphia's children, provide jobs and recreation for our youth and to provide health care for everyone in the State of Pensylvannia.
The International Action Center - Philadelphia will be driving down to DC Friday morning. If you want to join us, respond by email, or call 215-724-1618
