National Anti-War Coalition Begins Seven Day Tent City Occupations in LA and DC to Bring the Troops Home Despite Federal Attempts to Shut Down the People’s Right to Resist!

Thousands of peace and justice advocates are uniting on the doorsteps of the nation’s federal buildings to make it impossible to ignore the people’s mandate. British polls announced this week that 1.2 million Iraqis have met violent deaths as a result of nearly five years of U.S. occupation and more than four million have been displaced. Over 70 percent of the country opposes this war, but despite lipservice, congress continues to fund this bloodbath. Veterans, activists, Gold Star families and students are setting up mock tents as a result of the General Services Administration’s attempt to deny our first amendment right to demonstrate, but we will not back down!
