HAITI SUPPORT NETWORK
Send messages online to Pres. Bush & Congress: U.S./U.N. OUT OF HAITI - STOP the MASSACRES!
The Haiti Support Network is a coalition of Haitian and North American groups and individuals in the New York City area which raises political and material support for democratic and popular forces in Haiti. For more information, contact the HSN at the International Action Center, 39 West 14th St., Room 206, New York, NY 10011, Tel: 212-633-6646, Fax: 212-633-2889, E-Mail: haiticom@nyxfer.blythe.org
Haiti Support Network (HSN) Points of Unity
The Haiti Support Network (HSN) was formed to raise material and political support for the National Popular Assembly (APN). Since its founding in 1987, we believe that the APN has proven as a popular organization, in both words and deeds, that it is genuinely dedicated to Haiti's self-determination.
We oppose any form of collaboration with the US/UN military occupation of Haiti, including participation in the Haitian government or any elections while Haiti is militarily occupied. Such participation is a charade which only serves to disguise and strengthen foreign control of Haiti's political direction. We demand the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. and other foreign troops from Haiti.
We also reject neo-liberal reform of Haiti's economy as a poison which will bring further hardship, dependency, and underdevelopment to the Haitian people.
We support the autonomy and anti-occupation resistance of the APN, which continues to defend the principles of independence and justice for the Haitian people.

Haiti: A Slave Revolution 200 years after 1804
The Haitian Revolution is a singular event in history. Never before or since has an enslaved people risen up, broken their chains, and established a new state. Haiti was a beacon of hope and inspiration to the enslaved Africans of the United States. Haiti's history has been turbulent, but not for the reasons given by mainstream historians. Racism underlies their charges that the first Black Republic lacks "democratic traditions and is prone to violence. Read full chapters from this important book
